Campsites

Sancho Koen

This campsite is located in Yokohama, just off Honmoku Dori, behind the Saty supermarket.  It is approximately 3 km from YIS. Students will walk to the campsite from YIS, carrying small day packs containing essential items such as water, rain wear, basic first aid kits.  Heavy gear (tents, trangias, sleeping bags etc) will be carefully packed into large back packs and will go in the school car as far as the park entrance. Students will have to carry their large packs for approximately 500m from the park entrance to the camp site.

The close proximity to YIS, the ease of accessibility in case of an emergency and the well organized camping infrastructure makes Sancho Koen  an ideal campsite for over-night camps. The local emergency services are notified of our camp-out dates and are on stand-by to help out should a need arise.
